The Timeline S-Control will plot the relevant dates, tasks and events from a contact, account, case or opportunity onto a rich visual element in chronological order, and provide details about the event, task or status change. You click on and drag the time-line to browse the events. Clicking on an event will bring up a bubble with details and a link to view the related records in a drill down manner.The S-Control can be placed in an inline section on any of these 4 page layouts, and can also be extended to support custom objects by adding proper queries to the source code.Simply install this package, edit a page layout, create a new section, drag the Timeline SControl onto the section, click on the timeline field, click on "Edit Properties", set the field height to be 300, click OK, then click Save to save the page layout changes.
