If you register your app's package you'll receive a license record
each time a customer installs your app. Licenses let you track who
is using your app and for how long. The following conditions must
apply to your listing before you can register your package:
- Your app is a managed package.
- You have installed the License Management App (LMA).
The organization where you install the LMA is called your License Management Organization (LMO). Usually,
your LMA and your APO are the same organization.
Register your package and choose the
default license settings:
- On the Publishing home page, click Manage Licenses next to the uploaded, managed package.
- On the Register Your Uploaded Package page, click Register. If the package has never been associated with an LMO, select one.
If a previous version of the package was registered, the settings
from that version automatically appear. You can edit these existing
settings except the LMO. An LMO can only be changed by contacting salesforce.com.
- Select whether your default license is Free Trial or Active. If
your license is no charge, select Active.
- If you selected a free-trial license, enter the length in number
of whole days, up to 90. If you selected an active license, enter
the license length in number of whole days. If your license is free
or does not expire, select License does not expire.
- Enter the number of seats associated with your default license,
or select License is site-wide to offer the
license to all users in the installer's organization.
- Click Save.
